Title: San Diego Chapter of Women in Defense – 4th Annual Symposium

The San Diego Chapter of Women in Defense, a National Defense Industry Association affiliate, will be holding their 4th Annual Symposium on Wednesday, March 21 at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines. As with our previous Symposiums, you won¹t want to miss this day of opportunity for education, networking and a few fun activities!

The theme of this year’s event is “Cultivating Today’s Leaders for Tomorrow¹s Challenges.”

The speakers include CAPT Joe Beel, Commanding Officer, SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific leading a STEM panel; Delores Washburn, PMW 160 Technical Director leading a panel on “Engineering, Integration, Interoperability” with Ruth Youngs Lew, PMW 790 Program Manager as a featured panelist; and Susan Warshaw Ebner, from Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney leading a panel on “Women at the Top – Getting There.”  Other panelists include distinguished military, government, and industry leaders.

Government attendees are eligible to earn DAU credits toward continuous learning.

Title: Free Military Spouse Symposium and Career Fair

Alexandria, Va. (Jan. 20, 2012) — Military spouses, service members and veterans are invited to attend the free military Spouse Symposium & Career Fair 2012 “Keeping a Career on the Move,”  co hosted by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and Blue Star Families (BSF)  from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 26 at the San Diego Convention Center.  The Symposium’s signature sponsor is TriWest Healthcare Alliance and is held in conjunction with West 2012. The event is also supported by USAA and GovX.

Spouses and veterans who are looking for a job or preparing for a future career will have an opportunity to attend career-development seminars, receive onsite résumé critiques, meet expert panelists and more than 50 employers from regional and national companies.
