SSLA Mission Statement and Description Business Description: Supporting motivated Sea Service officers since 1978, SSLA supports the professional development of its members and serves as a forum of information about the Sea Services (Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard). Our goals are to: - Foster and encourage education and development. - Provide a forum for discussion of common issues and concerns affecting all military career fields. - Promote career planning. - Provide educational materials concerning matters of interest. - Provide networking opportunities for members to use to gain fresh insights and access to information sources and personal contacts. For your information, SSLA is a non-profit and non-political organization. However, SSLA is a member of the Navy-Marine Corps Council which advises the Secretary of the Navy on issues which affect Navy & Marine Corps personnel and their families. If you belong to a Chapter outside the Washington, DC area, please give us the name, address, and telephone number of your Point of Contact. SSLA has now become a national organization and we want to form stronger links with our sister chapters.
